Lawrence Seward makes paintings, sculptures, photos and conceptual art works. He lived and worked in New York City for nearly twenty years, where he received his MFA in Fine art from New York University and taught at Pace University. Lawrence's studio in the East Village as well as the rich and overactive art world of the city fed his appetite for art. His work has been shown in museums and galleries in Europe, at PS 1 in NYC, at the Aldrich Museum, and is in the Whitney Museum and the Honolulu Academy of Arts collections. His solo shows have been reviewed in the New York Times, the New Yorker and Art in America among others. He shows at the Andrew Kreps gallery in NYC. Lawrence currently lives in Honolulu and teaches art at the University of Hawaii.
